“Fridays should start with gym and end with gin”. No gym? No problem! You don’t need a gym, or fancy equipment to work up a sweat and strengthen your body. In fact, for this 5 minute workout all you need is you, a mat/towel, some water and a ‘can do’ attitude.
There are 2 ways you could do this high intensity workout:
→ set a time, say 20 mins and do as many rounds as possible in the time.
→ set yourself a ‘work’ (the time you are exercising) and ‘rest’ time. Beginner: 30 seconds work, 30 second rest Intermediate: 40 sec work, 20 rest Beast mode: 50 sec work, 10 rest. Complete 3 – 5 rounds (that’s a 15 – 25 minute workout).
These moves are a mix of cardio and body weight exercises so that you get the benefits of both, including:
- Stronger heart & lungs
- Stronger bones & joints
- Increased stamina
- Fat burn
- Mood boost
I’m not going to lie, you’ll probably want to quit half way through BUT it’s when we push through those moments of weakness that we come out stronger than ever.

1.High knees ×6 → squat drop
2. Walk out → plank squat thrust
3.Reverse burpee → commando plank
4.Curtsy lunge → squat
5.Mountain climber ×6 → slow climber ×4
