All that you require to get stronger, leaner and really sweaty is a pc/tablet/phone and wifi. Oh, and the motivation to workout. 💪
Since I am poor and sadly don’t get out much, most days I use Youtube to workout. Typically I exercise 6-7 times a week, usually in the morning. Once/twice i’ll do LISS (low intensity steady state) cardio like hopping on the exercise bike or going for a run.
The rest of the time I load up a couple of Youtube videos; one to induce a sweat and one to target a specific body part e.g ‘10 minute abs’.
These are my favourite videos for challenging my entire body. If you’re heart isn’t beating out your chest, you’re not struggling to breath and sweat isn’t dripping down your face (and other places we shall not mention) then you’re not pushing yourself hard enough.
If you’re a beginner these may be too difficult, but most of the channels have beginner workout options for you to check out.
1.Sweaty Betty Cardio Dance with Body By Simone
Simone De La Rue is the founder of ‘Body by Simone’, her classes are adored by celebs such as Taylor Swift, Rosie Huntington Whitely and Anne Hathaway. She has a background in dance and is so full of energy it’s infectious.
I just love this workout because you almost forget you’re actually working out. The cardio dance is broken down into 3 routines, followed by a strengthening circuit. Cardio dance -> arms -> cardio dance 2 -> lower body -> cardio dance 3 -> abs.
Trust me I have never sweated so much from every part of my body. It leaves me on a high, plus there’s music provided.
2.The Body Coach
If you haven’t heard of The Body Coach, where have you been? Joe Wicks is man on a mission to transform people’s bodies in just 3 months. He is big on instagram, has appeared on TV, in magazines, at festivals and has books and DVDs #leanin15. He’ll often film his HIIT workouts from incredible locations like Niagara Falls or Necker Island.
This is probably my favourite channel for working out. I love HIIT because it’s time efficient yet so effective. 20 minutes a few times a week, alongside a healthy diet, and you’ll be leaner than you can ever imagine. Bikini selfie anyone?
3.Hasfit 30 Minute Cardio HIIT
Hasfit is fronted by a husband and wife with a shared passion for fitness. Their channel offers a variety of workouts for all levels; from beginner abs and seated exercises to Tabata and HIIT.
Although this video is three 10 minutes videos edited together, it’s still a great workout featuring many different exercises (hence the ‘for people who get bored’ title) that will challenge your whole body.
4.Popsugar Cardio Box with The Cut
Popsugar is a channel with over 1 million subscribers; they post new workouts every week which vary from Pilates to boxing.
It’s good to challenge your body and mind with something different and for me boxing is something I never really do. Boxing is brilliant for busting stress and improving your hand to eye coordination, plus it’s core centric (every move uses your core muscles) so you’ll be well on way to those six pack abs.
5.Sarah’s Day 15 Minute Fat Burn
This video may only be 15 minutes but it is not easy, especially if you follow it with Sarah’s 15 minute ab shredder.
Sarah, of Sarah’s day, is my favourite Youtube vlogger. Her channel is all about health, fitness and “listening to your body”. She is so positive and basically leads my dream life in Australia (i’m obsessed with Australia ever since my family went when I was 11).
Don’t forget to warm up before you workout and stretch out your muscles afterwards. A few minutes of stretching could prevent you weeks of pain due to injured sore muscles.
I like to warm up with a little jog on the spot, some star jumps, rolling through my spine, walking out to plank, a few T-rotations and some slow and controlled squats/lunges.
After my body has been obliterated I do a mini yoga flow to stretch and breath into any tight spots in my body. It just helps me feel zen, or should I say ‘heavily meditated’.😏
Still got energy? Why not try my head to toe cardio HIIT.
