You may think that ‘luxury’ skincare is reserved for the rich and famous but my fellow mere mortals, we too can experience the crème de la crème of natural skincare.
Who doesn’t love to pamper themselves? I believe in looking after your skin, after all it’s got to see you through your whole life and I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not look like a haggard beast come later life.
Whilst there are many budget buys that get the job done just fine, sometimes it’s nice to spoil yourself a little and here’s the best bit; you don’t have to break the bank to indulge in luxury skincare.
Here’s how to pamper like a princess with the budget of a peasant.
My top 7 tips to #TreatYoSelf
1) All Hail the Sale
One of the best words in the English language (after free) is ‘sale’. The glorious word that suggests you may be about to find an absolute bargain. Sales are not just bi annual events any more, as well the Christmas and summer sales there’s now mid season sales and black Friday (November 24th if you’re wondering).
However, the best items usually sell fast so it might be worth signing up to email from companies you’re interested in. Email subscribers often get discount codes, special offers and advance notification of upcoming sales.
2) Discount Store
I’m sure there are discount sites but I can’t find any decent ones offering natural skincare and I don’t really trust the offerings on Ebay. In my opinion one of the best place to go for high quality discounted beauty products is TK Maxx. It’s one of my favourite stores; recent purchases include active wear, snazzy socks, coffee and face masks.
Their stock changes all the time so you never know what you’ll find. Currant steals include Balance Me Restore and Replenish Cream Cleanser £7.99 (RRP £18.00), REN Clear Calm Mask £16.99 (RRP £28) and The Organic Pharmacy Discovery Set £24.99 (RRP £45).
3) Size Matters
I LOVE skincare samples and minis, they’re great for testing a product out, for travelling and for treating your skin without commitment or breaking the bank. There is no way I would ever spend £100 on a face mask but £1.50 a sample, maybe.
Check out a brands own website too. Brands like Trevarno, The Rose Tree, Green People, Odylique and PHB Ethical offer ‘try before you buy’ samples of their products. Many brands also offer ‘travel sizes’ if you love a product but not its full size price.
4) Don’t Ask Don’t Get
Ask for a sample of a product, the worst that can happen is that they so no. However, it’s more than likely you’ll get your sample to try because companies want you to buy their products and for customers to be happy.
5) Gift Thy Self
Often the best value for money can be found in a gift set, like Pai’s Anywhere Essentials Kit or Balance Me’s Art of Balance Gift Set, currently £25 down from £75. So go ahead and gift yourself the joy of value for money skincare.
6) Compare the Market
Never make a purchase without checking other sites and stores to ensure you’re getting the best deal. When my Sukin moisturiser ran out I decided to upgrade to Nourish’s Argan Skin Renew, after comparing prices I found the best deal on Only Naturals where for the same price as elsewhere, I also got a free cleanser and samples.
Additionally, don’t be afraid to challenge the price, if you have seen the product cheaper elsewhere, ask if the store can match that price.
7) Va Va Voucher
Always check voucher code websites like vouchercodes.co.uk or simply type the website name followed by discount code into Google e.g ‘Pai discount code’. Sometimes they’ll be invalid but sometimes you’ll save yourself a few quid.
Congratulations you’ve graduated my luxury for less lesson, now you’re armed to hunt to down those skincare steals so neither your skin nor your savings account are neglected.
Happy pampering my pretties x
